Leeds United are not looking at Feyenoord manager Arne Slot to take over at Elland Road, according to Sky Sports reporter Tim Thornton.

The Lowdown: Slot linked with Leeds job

The Whites are yet to replace Jesse Marsch after parting ways with the American on Monday. Owner Andrea Radrizzani was hoping for ‘white smoke’ by Wednesday morning, with Slot one of many names to be linked with the vacant post in Yorkshire.

Reporter Graeme Bailey claimed that Slot - who has Feyenoord top of the Eredivisie - was on Leeds’ radar, although subsequent reports suggest otherwise.

The Latest: Thornton’s claim on Slot

Thornton was reporting for Sky Sports from outside Elland Road on Wednesday, providing a managerial update.

He said that all of the club’s targets are currently in work, name-checking Rayo Vallecano's Andoni Iraola, although he said that Slot isn’t a name under consideration.

Thornton stated: “It’s my understating he (Arne Slot) is not on their list.”

The Verdict: Things can change…

Leeds have seemingly found it a struggle so far in their search for a manager, with Raul, Carlos Corberan and Iraola all turning down the vacancy. Therefore, it wouldn’t come as a shock if Slot were to become of interest, especially due to his impressive work with Feyenoord.

He likes to play a 4-3-3 formation and has averaged more than two points per match in his 81 games in charge. With Dutch journalist Martijn Krabbendam believing that Slot could 'fit in' at Leeds, it could still be a name to keep an eye on despite Thornton’s claim.
