The Lowdown: Terrier links
The Whites appear to have been after a new forward all summer and have had Terrier on their radar since July.
The money seems to be there ready for the right target, though, with Andrea Radrizzani confirming that the club had agreed on a €40m deal for Charles De Ketelaere before he opted to join AC Milan.
The Latest: Jacobs’ comments
Jacobs, talking to GiveMeSport, said that Leeds have ‘liked’ Terrier for a ‘long, long time’ and have ‘put in a lot of work’ over a possible deal.
“Terrier is the one that Leeds have kind of liked for a long, long time.
“And whilst looking at Kalimuendo, they were concurrently determining whether there was any possibility of signing him. And they’ve tracked him for a long time, they’ve put in a lot of work, they’ve done a lot of analysis.”
The Verdict: Unlikely due to Gnonto?
Leeds have clearly watched a lot of Terrier, but it doesn’t look as if an offer is on the table, so they may think there’s better value for money elsewhere.
It appears as if the Whites are close to agreeing on a move for FC Zurich teenager Wilfried Gnonto, so should a transfer go through, you’d expect that a deal for Terrier is unlikely.
Happy with Orta's business so far?
I'm not so sure!
Gnonto can play anywhere in attack but is primarily a centre-forward, so should be able to provide sufficient competition to Patrick Bamford and Joe Gelhardt after bursting onto the scene with the Italian national side.
