Leeds United officials have held internal discussions over the possibility of signing Wolves forward Adama Traore this summer, according to The Daily Mail's Simon Jones.

The Lowdown: Forward hunt

The Whites have been busy this summer, already spending more than £95m on a number of players ahead of Jesse Marsch’s first full season in charge.

Five first-team additions have been made alongside youth signings Darko Gyabi and Sonny Perkins, but Leeds still want more. Their pursuit of a senior forward is ongoing, and Traore, lauded as a 'game-changer' by Whites employee Noel Whelan, still appears to be a player of interest at Elland Road.

The Latest: Traore talks

The Daily Mail’s Jones shared a story online on Monday, looking at Leeds’ pursuit of Club Brugge forward Charles De Ketelaere.

The journalist added that the Whites have also 'discussed' signing Traore and PSV’s Cody Gakpo, potentially as an alternative to De Ketelaere.

The Verdict: Avoid

Victor Orta has apparently loved the flying winger 'for ages', but the Whites transfer guru needs to put personal admiration aside and consider the fit in the current squad.

Leeds need a player who has plenty of experience occupying a central role, something Traore cannot offer. The Spaniard has scored just once in 33 games as a centre-forward and has mainly played as a right-winger during his career.

He’s lacked the final product throughout his career with just 28 goals in 332 games, so the Whites could be better off looking elsewhere than Traore if they miss out on De Ketelaere to AC Milan.
