Leeds United have reached an agreement with Michael Skubala to take over as head coach of the Under-23 side, according to Football Insider.

The Lowdown: Rene Maric move

The Whites have been busy when it comes to first-team and academy additions on the pitch, with Sonny Perkins the latest player to pen Elland Road terms.

It isn’t just players Leeds are after, though, with Phil Hay reporting on Friday that former Borussia Dortmund assistant Rene Maric is close to becoming Jesse Marsch's new number two.

A new B-team manager has also been on the radar after Mark Jackson stepped up to work under Marsch and Andrew Taylor filled in for the remainder of the 2021/22 campaign, and it looks as if they have finally found their man.

The Latest: Skubala to follow?

FI shared a story regarding Leeds on Tuesday morning after being informed by sources.

They claimed that a deal has been agreed to bring Skubala, who has a futsal background, to Yorkshire, adding that an arrival is ‘imminent’.

The Verdict: Interesting

Skubala was previously England’s Futsal Head Coach and is the youngest ever appointed England Team Head coach, so it will be intriguing to see how he gets on with a number of bright Leeds talents.

He’ll be looking to take the club back to Premier League 2 after the Whites suffered relegation last season. Skubala should be able to call upon new academy signings Darko Gyabi and Perkins, so hopefully, his futsal knowledge will lead to some exciting football being played by the up-and-coming Leeds starlets.
