Leeds United have been named as one of Dion Drena Beljo’s favourite Premier League sides, according to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg.

The Lowdown: Beljo profiled

Beljo is an out-and-out centre-forward who plies his trade with Croatian side NK Osijek.

The 20-year-old has already scored 30 senior goals during his club career and has represented Croatia at under-21 level. He could be on the move in 2023, though, and it seems as if he is a fan of the Whites.

The Latest: Plettenberg’s post

Plettenberg interviewed Beljo and relayed some comments on Twitter on Saturday morning. He said that Beljo is ready for the next step in his career, with Osijek wanting €6m (£5.1m) for his services.

The Sky Sports reporter also asked the forward for his favourite team in England, with Newcastle and Leeds being the answers.

The Verdict: Leeds to act?

Beljo could well be a star of the future, and with Leeds needing a new forward due to Patrick Bamford’s struggles with form and fitness this year, the Croatian could be a shrewd target.

He has already found the net with ease at senior level and wouldn’t break the bank at Elland Road bank for just over £5m, so he could provide Jesse Marsch with another solid attacking option.

There has been nothing to suggest that Leeds are keen on Beljo, but his comments could make the Yorkshire club take note.
