Plenty of Leeds United fans have reacted positively to Patrick Bamford’s goal against Fulham this afternoon.
The striker opened the scoring in the Whites’ 3-0 victory which has put them back to the top of the Championship, with the 26-year-old scoring his second goal in three games after previously going seven matches without finding the net.
The match threw up a very interesting individual battle between two of the Championship’s top performing strikers in Bamford and Fulham’s Aleksandr Mitrovic, who has found himself once again the talisman for Fulham this term.
His goal return of 23 goals in 35 games makes him one of the most prolific strikers in English football, but instead it was his Leeds counterpart who was celebrating this afternoon.
After being played in by Helder Costa, Bamford opened the scoring for Leeds and The Athletic journalist Phil Hay hailed the goal on Twitter.
