Content producer and editor Jake Winderman tore into Jack Harrison after his own goal put Leeds United behind in their weekend Premier League clash.

The Lowdown: Leeds battle to draw against the Seagulls

Leeds headed into the game looking to edge away from the relegation zone in their second home game under Javi Gracia, and faced a Brighton & Hove Albion side gunning for Europe.

The game was heading the way of the form book, as despite Patrick Bamford’s first-half equaliser, the Whites were looking beaten in West Yorkshire.

But Harrison’s equaliser 12 minutes from time rescued a valuable point - though it was his earlier contribution in the game that made him the subject of sharp criticism.

The Latest: Harrison’s moment to forget

Harrison’s sliced clearance restored the visitors’ lead just after the hour mark in what was a rather embarrassing moment for the winger.

With Everton looking like picking up points, defeat just would not do for Leeds this weekend, and CBS Sports’ Winderman took aim at the 26-year-old for his botched attempt at clearing the danger.

Writing on Twitter, he said: “All Jack Harrison had to do was use his right foot... and he puts it in his own net with his left. Absolutely embarrassing stuff.”

The Verdict: Harrison spares his and Leeds’ blushes

Grabbing a point against in-form Brighton is not to be sniffed at, particularly when Leeds are in the relegation scrap. While a win would have been most ideal, it is perhaps a point that few others will take between now and the end of the campaign.

Therefore, Harrison will be most relieved that he atoned for his mishap - not least by scoring his first league goal since August in the process.

And who knows, should this herald an upturn in form for a player who has come in for criticism previously this term, his own goal may even end up being a blessing in disguise. It could even be argued Harrison was far from his best, having lost possession 20 times throughout the contest (as per Sofascore).

Only time will tell, and although his unfortunate moment was indeed embarrassing, there are still plenty of points to fight for that could allow Harrison to forget it ever happened.
