Striker Julian Quinones is set to join Leeds United, according to journalist Gerardo Melin.

The Lowdown: New forward wanted

The Whites have been ‘actively hunting’ a new striker since the start of the month, with primary target Charles De Ketelaere now set to sign for AC Milan.

Quinones, who was described as an “animal in all training sessions” by team-mate Diego Reyes, has recently been linked with a move to Elland Road.

Reports have suggested that the Colombian is ‘very popular’ with Jesse Marsch, and it looks as if he could be on his way to Yorkshire.

The Latest: Quinones 'is going to Leeds'

Journalist Melin took to Twitter on Friday evening to provide an update on Quinones.

He said that the forward ‘is going to Leeds United’, adding that Atlas ‘will lose the most unbalanced and feared footballer on their squad’.

The Verdict: Finally

It has taken a while, but it looks as if Andrea Radrizzani and Victor Orta will finally bolster Marsch’s attacking ranks by signing Quinones.

The 25-year-old has scored 49 goals during his career and supplied 18 assists and will also provide an option out wide.

That could come in handy, especially following an injury to fellow countryman Luis Sinisterra, but you’d like to think that Quinones will feature more in a central role alongside Patrick Bamford and Joe Gelhardt.
