Pundit Kevin Campbell has been reacting to rumours continuing to link Leeds United with a move for Wolves forward Adama Traore.

The Lowdown: Orta still a fan

Traore has been linked with an Elland Road move for some time now, with reports over the summer claiming that an approach was made for the Spaniard’s services.

90min shared an update on the 26-year-old earlier this month, suggesting that Leeds, and Victor Orta in particular, still like Traore.

He is out of contract at Molineux at the end of the season, and Campbell has given his thoughts to a possible Leeds swoop.

The Latest: Campbell’s comments

Campbell, who contributes to Sky Sports, was talking to Football Insider regarding Leeds and Traore. He said that signing the Wolves man wouldn’t be a bad move by Leeds chiefs and described Traore as a player ‘opposition sides won’t want to come up against’.

“On his day he can upset anyone.

“Leeds are that type of team. They play with vibrancy, energy – and if you chuck him into the mix – the opposition defenders will have big problems.

“Look, he was being coveted by some huge clubs.

“I don’t think it would be a bad move for Leeds United to get him through the door in another relegation scrap.

“He’s a player the opposition sides won’t want to come up against.”

The Verdict: Unlikely?

Phil Hay has suggested that the Whites are looking to sign a young left-back and striker in the New Year, so a move for Traore could be unlikely in January.

He can play centrally if needed but is primarily a right winger, with Jesse Marsch having a number of wide options available at this moment in time.

Should Traore become a free agent in the summer, then perhaps Leeds could look to finally secure his services, but for now, they may be better off prioritising other areas.
