Leeds United captain Liam Cooper is "another player" who could miss tonight’s trip to Liverpool, Phil Hay reports.

The Lowdown: Cooper’s injury problems

Cooper has had his injury issues over the last 12 months, missing 16 Premier League fixtures during the 2021/22 season, mainly due to a hamstring problem.

The 31-year-old has already failed to feature in six top-flight games during the current campaign after enduring a ‘nightmare’ pre-season where he suffered an off-season injury.

The Latest: Liverpool doubt

Hay took to Twitter on Thursday afternoon to relay updates from Jesse Marsch’s pre-match press conference.

The reliable reporter initially posted that Joe Gelhardt, Rodrigo, Luis Sinisterra, Tyler Adams and Leo Hjelde are all doubts, before stating in a separate tweet that Cooper is ‘another player who might miss Anfield’ with a decision needed on his fitness.

The Verdict: Couldn’t write it…

Leeds’ injury woes may have hit a season-high at a point where senior players like Cooper and Rodrigo are desperately needed in a bid to turn things around.

The club are without a Premier League win in eight, and you’d expect that is likely to stretch to nine with a daunting trip to Anfield.

Marsch could have up to eight first-team players out with Stuart Dallas and Adam Forshaw still sidelined, and a disappointing display this evening may only lead to more questions about the manager's future ahead of the break for the World Cup.
