Leeds United winger Luis Sinisterra is set to be out of action until after the World Cup with a 'rare' injury.

The Lowdown: Liverpool absence

Sinisterra has started just six of the club's 12 Premier League fixtures to date, missing three matchday squads entirely due to injury and suspension.

The 23-year-old didn't make the trip to Liverpool last weekend, with Crysencio Summerville coming in and netting a dramatic late winner at Anfield. It looks as if Summerville may be needed from the off heading into the break for the World Cup, with an update emerging on Sinisterra's foot problem.

The Latest: Injury update

Marsch spoke to the media ahead of Saturday's meeting with Bournemouth, relayed by the club's official Twitter page. He labelled it as a 'rare' injury for Sinisterra, stating that his lisfranc issue is likely to keep him out until after the World Cup.

Phil Hay relayed the news regarding the Colombian, saying that 'initial scans suggest its not as severe as it could be', but it is 'worse than first thought'.

The Verdict: Not ideal

Sinisterra's was Leeds' marquee signing to replace Raphinha over the summer, and he has shown glimpses of quality with goals against Everton and Brentford.

However, it seems as if supporters won't see the player in action until the end of the year, when Leeds return to domestic action against Manchester City.

As mentioned, Sinisterra's continued absence may give Summerville the chance to nail down a starting spot on the right, or it could result in Brenden Aaronson moving out to the right, potentially giving Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo the chance to feature together, so Marsch will have some key calls to make in the final third over the next nine days.
