Norwich City are keen on Leeds United centre-back Charlie Cresswell, according to Alan Nixon.

The Lowdown: Cresswell at Millwall

Cresswell, hailed as 'unbelievable' by Leeds presenter Joe Wainman, made the move to Championship play-off hopefuls Millwall in the summer on a season-long loan.

The 20-year-old has made ten appearances under Gary Rowett so far, scoring three times and providing one assist in the second tier, currently ranking as their highest performing player on Whoscored.

He has been absent from the squad in Millwall’s last two league games, but his form appears to have caught the eye of a fellow Championship side.

The Latest: Norwich keen

Reliable reporter Alan Nixon provided an update on Cresswell on Sunday lunchtime in a story for The Sun.

He revealed that Norwich have been checking on the centre-back and are keen on potentially signing the Leeds man.

The Verdict: A worry for Leeds?

Cresswell's current Elland Road deal has just under three years left to run, so learning of Norwich's interest could cause concern to some Leeds chiefs, especially as Nixon insists the youngster is 'part of plans at Leeds'.

A worst-case scenario would be the two clubs swapping divisions over the next 12 months, something that may leave Leeds vulnerable when it comes to Cresswell's future.

He's clearly impressing down south and appears to be a future star after being linked with Liverpool and Manchester United earlier this year, so the Whites may want to guarantee the youngster first-team football in Yorkshire over the next 18 months or risk losing him to someone who will.
