Phil Hay has admitted that it is looking increasingly unlikely that Leeds United will make any more new signings in the summer transfer window.

The Lowdown: Relatively quiet summer

The Whites have had a fairly quiet summer overall, despite there being hope that a large number of new signings would come in and bolster the squad.

Junior Firpo is a noticeable addition from Barcelona, replacing Ezgjan Alioski at left-back, but Jack Harrison's permanent move from Manchester City is the only other key piece of business.

The Latest: Hay provides negative update

With the transfer window now about to enter its final week, Hay has given an update during a Q&A for The Athletic, admitting that Leeds' business could be done for the time being. He said:

"We'll have to see if anything materialises in the last week but it's not looking promising in terms of more arrivals. Orta has been looking at Lang this summer but Lang's not a player Bielsa has actually asked Leeds to move on. At no stage has that got far down the line.

"With O'Brien, Huddersfield want £8m+. Leeds think he's worth half as much and at this stage, aren't prepared to go higher. Conor Gallagher was the player they really wanted in that position."

The Verdict: Slightly frustrating

While Marcelo Bielsa still has a strong squad at his disposal, this is a frustrating update from Hay at a time when Leeds are looking to move up a gear.

In other to improve upon last season's ninth-placed finish in the Premier League, the Whites may need to strengthen their squad further to avoid becoming stagnant or regressing.

It would be a huge shame not to kick on, losing their current momentum under Bielsa in the process.
