Leeds: Phil Hay shares Rodrigo update -Leeds United News

Leeds United correspondent Phil Hay has shared a bad injury update regarding forward Rodrigo ahead of this afternoon’s trip to Brentford.

The Lowdown: No new senior striker

It was a hectic 48 hours at Elland Road as the club searched for a new senior striker. Victor Orta tried and failed with moves for Hwang Hee-chan, Cody Gakpo and Bamba Dieng, ending up with 18-year-old Wilfried Gnonto, who Jesse Marsch previously said isn’t Premier League ready.

Leeds also allowed Dan James to join Fulham on loan, and there’s been some bad news on the injury front when it comes to Rodrigo.

The Latest: Rodrigo update

Hay took to Twitter to provide an update on Rodrigo’s condition on Thursday.

The reliable reporter said that the Spaniard is looking at a three-to-four-week stint on the sidelines after dislocating his shoulder against Everton.

Happy with Leeds' summer business?

Yes, just about!

Yes, just about!

Not really!

Not really!

The Verdict: Bad to worse…

It hasn’t been a good week both on and off the pitch at Elland Road, and this update on Rodrigo is another blow Marsch will have to deal with.

The Leeds boss will now be left with Patrick Bamford, who hasn’t completed 90 minutes for 12 months, and youngsters Joe Gelhardt and Gnonto as attacking options.

Rodrigo, who Marsch described as ‘incredible’, began the campaign in fine form with four goals in his first three games, may not return until after the international break, so failing to add a senior forward could come back to haunt Leeds officials.
