Leeds United are interested in signing Osasuna attacker Chimy Avila during the January transfer window, according to a new transfer rumour.
The Lowdown: Avila a key man for Osasuna
While Leeds potentially look to make reinforcements in January, it seems as though the Argentine could be a target.
The Latest: Leeds eyeing up move
He has a release clause of approximately £26million, although Leeds are only willing to offer around £20million for his services.
The Verdict: Slightly risky signing?
In terms of ability, Avila could be a brilliant signing for Leeds, possessing plenty of experience and showing that he can excel in one of Europe’s top leagues.
The one concern would be the attacker’s injury record, however, having missed chunks of action over the years, including two cruciate ligament issues.
Should Leeds feel confident that Avila has overcome those issues sufficiently enough, making a move for him in January could be a masterstroke, providing them with more goals and all-round attacking threat.
