Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier has again been linked with a move to Chelsea, as the Blues look to make a key long-term addition between the sticks.

The Lowdown: Meslier linked with Chelsea move

The Frenchman has been a great servant for the Whites, playing with a maturity well beyond his 22 years, and becoming an undisputed key man.

Meslier has started all 14 of Leeds' Premier League matches so far this season, and has already notched a total of 87 appearances in the competition.

The youngster has been linked with a move to Chelsea recently, and it looks as though the west London club's interest isn't going away.

The Latest: Fresh claim emerges

According to journalist Simon Phillips on Substack [via Caught Offside], the Blues are keeping tabs on Meslier, with doubts remaining over Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The Leeds star's current deal doesn't expire until the summer of 2026, putting the Whites in a strong bargaining position.

The Verdict: Would be a huge loss

Meslier has been one of the first names on Leeds' team sheet for some time now, once being described as 'absolutely superb' by Darren Bent, so the thought of him leaving is a concerning one.

Unfortunately, the lure of moving to a Champions League-playing team with trophy aspirations could be too much for the 'keeper to turn down, with him possibly feeling that a new challenge is required.

The hope is that Meslier remains Leeds' first choice between the sticks for many years to come, but if they do end up selling, they should at least receive huge money for his services.
