Leeds United have no plans to 'entertain' any offers for goalkeeper Illan Meslier at the end of this season, according to transfer expert Dean Jones.

The Lowdown: Meslier a key man for Leeds

The Frenchman has been one of the Whites' standout players in recent years, performing with great consistency despite still only being 22 years of age.

Meslier has now made 106 appearances for Leeds overall, and while he is contracted to the club until 2026, he has been linked with a move away recently.

Now, a new update has emerged regarding the future of the Whites hero.

The Latest: Summer exit unlikely

Speaking to Give Me Sport, Jones claimed that Leeds have no intention of accepting any bid for Meslier this summer:

"Depends how the season plays out, really. I mean, ideally, no. They won’t want to entertain any bids for Meslier because he’ll be difficult to replace, mainly."

The Verdict: Will he want to stay?

Losing Meslier would be a massive blow, considering his current and long-term worth, with the youngster described as an 'excellent' player by Micah Richards.

It is clear that Leeds won't consider allowing him to leave, but the only potential issue is if the player himself decides to want a new challenge at a more successful club.

Keeping hold of an unhappy individual can be problematic, but the hope is that Meslier is content at Elland Road moving forward, with Premier League survival absolutely vital to that.
