Leeds: Sky reporter drops update on late window transfer plans

Leeds: Sky reporter drops update on late window transfer plans - Follow up

Leeds United will make more signings this summer if any players leave Elland Road in the final days of the transfer window, according to Sky Sports reporter Tim Thornton.

The Lowdown: Busy summer at Leeds

Jesse Marsch has enjoyed an up-and-down summer transfer window, losing key men Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha but also bringing in a host of exciting new faces.

Brenden Aaronson is one of many who has made a hugely positive start to life at Leeds, helping them sit third in the Premier League after three matches, but it sounds like Victor Orta may not be finished just yet.

A new striker has been linked for quite some time, and Thornton has now shared the latest he’s heard from Elland Road.

The Latest: More business to be done?

Speaking to Give Me Sport, the Sky Sports reporter claimed that any outgoings will be met with an immediate replacement:

“As things stand, Leeds aren’t planning for anyone to go out. But if anyone does, they’ve also got options in terms of replacements and players that could come in.”

The Verdict: One more in?

Phillips and Raphinha were the two players who were always likely to leave Leeds this summer, but with the pair now gone, it could be that everyone else stays put.

Jack Harrison has been linked with a move to Newcastle United while Dan James has suddenly drawn ‘shock interest‘ from Tottenham, but the only thing Orta and Andrea Radrizzani should be focusing on is getting a new centre-forward through the doors.

The current results are certainly promising, but with Patrick Bamford’s constant injury problems the manager is still short up front, and you can’t help but feel it would be a mistake not to make one more splash in the market, regardless of outgoings.
