Leeds United‘s on-loan attacker Mateusz Bogusz is set to leave Elland Road to join UD Ibiza, according to a fresh transfer rumour.
The Lowdown: Bogusz recovering from injury
Bogusz is still recovering from that setback but that doesn’t mean that his future isn’t being sorted at the same time, with the likelihood that he will depart Leeds again over the coming weeks.
A new update appears to suggest that he could be on the move once more.
The Latest: Bogusz set to leave Leeds
According to Diario de Ibiza [via Sport Witness], Bogusz was spotted at Ibiza’s friendly clash against Real Mallorca on Sunday, which has prompted speculation of a return to Javier Baraja’s side. He is reported as being ‘within range’ for Ibiza, who want to ‘bet on’ him as a new signing.
The youngster’s current Leeds contract expires at the end of this season, so the current transfer window could be the Whites’ last opportunity to receive a transfer fee for him.
Sport Witness suggested that if the Yorkshire club see a long-term future for him at Elland Road, they may work on renewing his contract before agreeing to a loan departure.
The Verdict: Right decision for all parties
Allowing Bogusz to go out on loan again would make sense for everyone involved before deadline day, with the youngster seemingly not a part of Jesse Marsch’s future plans, despite Mateusz Klich once saying that his Polish team-mate has a ‘big future’.
It could help Leeds to drum up more funds for the rest of the transfer window as they look to sign a new striker, while also giving the 20-year-old a chance to obtain further first-team experience.
Bogusz may have Klich’s endorsement but his current injury is serious and could have the potential to affect him for years, while the fact that he has only made three Whites appearances (just one since the start of 2020/21 and none in the Premier League) shows that he is very much on the periphery at Elland Road.
