Leeds United are interested in signing RB Salzburg forward Noah Okafor in the January transfer window, according to a new transfer rumour.

The Lowdown: Okafor impressing in Austria

The 22-year-old has already matured into a key player for his current team, scoring four goals in as many Austrian Bundesliga starts so far this season.

Okafor has also taken his domestic form with him into the Champions League, finding the net in Tuesday's 1-1 draw at home to Serie A champions AC Milan.

The Swiss starlet's current Salzburg deal expires in 2024, however, meaning they are running out of time to receive a big fee for his services.

The Latest: Leeds keen on January move

According to Calciomercato [via Sport Witness], Leeds are eyeing up a January move for Okafor, with the report saying they are 'on the trail' for him.

The Whites aren't alone in expressing an interest, however, with Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund also keen.

The Verdict: Great option for Whites

This is exactly the type of player Leeds should be looking at, with Okafor not dissimilar to his former teammate Brenden Aaronson, in terms of being a vibrant young forward who has shone through the Red Bull system.

His tally of 29 goals and 20 assists in 88 appearances for Salzburg is a strong return and he could help add depth and end product to this Whites squad.

With the Premier League season set to be a relentless one, Okafor could come in and give Jesse Marsch the extra injection of quality needed to stave off any threat of relegation, also acting as a long-term signing with a high ceiling.
