Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams has been linked with a move to Fiorentina, with the Serie A side thought to have watched him in action during the World Cup.

The Lowdown: Adams impresses in Qatar

The 23-year-old has made an immediate impression in a Whites shirt since joining in the summer transfer window, starting 13 Premier League games this season.

Adams has perhaps shone even brighter at the World Cup in Qatar however, producing some true captain's performances for the USA as they reached the last 16 of the competition.

His form appears not to have gone unnoticed, though, with a worrying transfer rumour emerging.

The Latest: Fiorentina eyeing up move?

According to Firenzeviola.it [via Sport Witness], Fiorentina have been 'alerted' by Adams' form and technical director Nicolas Burdisso saw him in action in America's 1-0 win over Iran.

He was allegedly there to watch two players who 'arouse the attention' of the Serie A outfit, one of which could well have been the Leeds man, with the other believed to possibly be Yunus Musah.

Inter are also watching on intently, with Nerazzurri chief Piero Ausilio keeping a close eye on proceedings.

The Verdict: Would be an enormous blow

While it isn't confirmed that Adams was one of the players being watched, it certainly seems likely given the Italian club's quest for a midfielder, which will come as a concern for anyone of a Leeds persuasion.

He has already become such an influential player for Jesse Marsch's side, being hailed as a 'menace' by Stephen Warnock and averaging a huge four tackles per game in the league.

It would be a shock if Adams departed Leeds so soon after arriving, so the hope is that he ignores Fiorentina's possible advances and continues to grow into a formidable figure at Elland Road.
