Leeds United director of football Victor Orta has been accused of 'appalling, diabolical behaviour' over his celebrations of the Whites' recent win against Liverpool.

The Lowdown: Famous win for Leeds

The Whites picked up one of their sweetest victories of the season so far at Anfield last Saturday, winning 2-1 after Crysencio Summerville's late strike on Merseyside.

It was a win which gave Jesse Marsch credit in the bank as he reportedly clings onto his job, and also highlighted the team spirit currently on show at Elland Road.

It wasn't only on the pitch where there were euphoric celebrations from those employed by Leeds, though, with some off-field antics drawing the ire of Liverpool staff.

The Latest: Orta's behaviour criticised

According to Football Insider, Orta's wild celebrations at the final whistle last Saturday did not go down well with senior officials at Anfield, with one source saying that he displayed 'appalling, diabolical behaviour'.

It is also claimed that his antics 'continued in the boardroom lounge' long after full-time at Anfield, with the 43-year-old fist-pumping, beating his chest and 'screaming' with glee in the presence of Liverpool figures.

As per this report, club officials are expected to keep celebrations muted when in Premier League boardrooms, executive lounges and directors’ boxes.

The Verdict: Show of passion

In truth, respect has to be shown from big figures at Premier League clubs, so Orta may need to accept that his celebrations were a bit excessive last weekend, even in the circumstances.

That being said, it is refreshing to see an individual care so deeply about Leeds' results -  YouTuber Joe Wainman has called the Spaniard a 'decent apple' at the club - at a time when owners and senior individuals are sometimes accused of only being in the sport for financial gain.

Orta is clearly someone who wears his heart on his sleeve when it comes to the Whites, as evidenced by his show of passion when they were promoted two years ago, although he does need to be aware of potentially coming across as unsporting when occupying boardrooms and executive lounges, particularly at away matches.
