Leeds: Raphinha move reportedly agreed -Leeds United News

Leeds United and Barcelona have finally reached a €60m (£50.7m) agreement for Raphinha, according to 90min.

The Lowdown: Transfer saga

Raphinha’s future has been a hot topic of conversation this summer, with the Brazilian seemingly keen on a move to the Nou Camp. Leeds accepted an offer from Chelsea last month worth £60m, but the 25-year-old has been holding out for a move to Spain.

Raphinha has remained in England to resolve his future, with Jesse Marsch taking a 26-man squad to Australia for a pre-season tour, and it looks as if there has been a breakthrough in talks.

The Latest: Leeds accept £50m+ offer

90min shared a story on Saturday morning regarding Raphinha’s future and a move to Barcelona.

They claimed that Leeds have accepted a revised offer from Xavi’s side worth €60m (£50.7m). The Catalan giants will reportedly stagger payments, with various performance-related add-ons also included.

The Verdict: Not ideal

It looks as if Andrea Radrizzani and the Whites will receive just over £50m for their star attacker in what will be a 16% discount on Chelsea’s £60m offer.

That isn’t exactly brilliant news, but it’s clear that Barcelona has been the move that Raphinha wants, and it looks like he’ll get his wish.

He played a key role in keeping Leeds in the Premier League last season with 11 goals and three assists, which meant that a £25m relegation release clause didn’t become active.

Therefore, when you take that into consideration, £50m isn’t a disastrous figure and will still result in a £33m profit on the Brazil international within two years of his arrival in Yorkshire.
