Leeds United’s club-record signing Rodrigo Moreno could also miss the game against Chelsea on Saturday afternoon.

The Lowdown: Injury woes…

Leeds were finally edging closer to a fully fit squad last weekend, however, the Whites were hit with a triple injury blow in Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Brentford.

Kalvin Phillips and Liam Cooper had to be withdrawn with hamstring problems, whereas Patrick Bamford also injured his hamstring when celebrating his dramatic stoppage-time equaliser.

The club shared an official update on all three on Thursday morning and even included a fresh development on Rodrigo for good measure.

The Latest: Rodrigo issue

Phil Hay relayed Leeds’ official injury update in a story for The Athletic.

Phillips and Cooper are set to miss the trip to Stamford Bridge due to their respective hamstring injuries, while Bamford is also a doubt.

Rodrigo, who Bamford himself described as 'brilliant', is now another potential absentee due for the meeting with Thomas Tuchel’s side due to a heel problem.

The Verdict: ‘Out of nowhere’

As LeedsLive’s Conor McGilligan posted on Twitter, this one has come ‘out of nowhere’.

The 30-year-old has been involved in 14 Premier League matchday squads this season, with his only absence coming against Tottenham last month.

He’s carried the centre-forward burden in recent months following Bamford’s lengthy spell on the side, but now it looks as if he’ll be needing time on the injury table himself.

Bielsa could have done without this, but hopefully, Rodrigo won’t miss the entire festive period.
