Reported Leeds United transfer target Sasa Lukic has dropped a hint regarding a potential move away from his current club Torino in the future.

The Lowdown: Leeds' interest in Lukic

The Premier League side were linked with a move for the midfielder during the 2021 summer transfer window but didn't end up signing him.

With domestic football now on a break to make way for the World Cup in Qatar, where Lukic will be representing Serbia, this will give Leeds the chance to assess what business they may need to do during the upcoming January transfer window.

It now appears that one of their previous transfer targets has hinted that he may be open to making a move away from Torino in the near future.

The Latest: Lukic's transfer hint

Speaking to Sportal (via Toro News), the 26-year-old was asked about a potential move away from Torino in January or in the summer, and whether he had 'talked to Leeds' amid their reported interest in him.

Lukic replied: "To be honest, I have great ambitions. I'm sure I'll get where I set myself, and if it's after the World Cup or next summer, we'll see."

The Verdict: Would be a smart move by Leeds

In 163 appearances for Torino across all competitions, Lukic has scored 14 goals and delivered six assists along the way.

Across his 12 Serie A appearances for his current club this season, the Serbian has scored two goals and made the joint-second highest number of passes into the final third of the pitch (43) for Il Toro.

From a defensive point of view, the midfielder also has the joint-highest number of successful tackles (12) at Torino and the second-highest number of blocks (15).

This shows just how useful Lukic can be in terms of getting the ball forward for his time and winning it back when out of possession.

In terms of a potential move to Leeds, with recent reports suggesting that the Yorkshire club are willing to entertain offers for Adam Forshaw in January, along with some doubts over Mateusz Klich's future at Elland Road, finally bringing Lukic to the club could be a very smart prospective move by Victor Orta and Andrea Radrizzani.
