Leeds United prospect Mateusz Bogusz will definitely miss the rest of the season through injury, AS report.

The Lowdown: Bogusz’s campaign

Labelled as ‘outstanding’ by the Spanish media (Sports Witness), Bogusz has enjoyed a solid season out on loan with UD Ibiza.

The 20-year-old has made 22 appearances during the current campaign, scoring four times and registering seven assists, playing as an attacking midfielder and out wide.

Bogusz hasn’t featured since January 22, though, with Phil Hay previously stating that the youngster will require surgery following a cruciate ligament injury.

The Latest: Spanish outlet’s claim

Spanish outlet AS shared a story on Monday afternoon, looking at UD Ibiza and the 14 players who have scored in 2021/22.

When it came to Bogusz, they confirmed that he will not play again this season due to a serious injury, backing the previous suspicions from Hay.

The Verdict: What will Leeds do?

It seems Bogusz will be sidelined for at least three months until the end of the season, and the Whites will have a decision to make on the Pole over the summer.

Going into the 2022/23 season, Bogusz will be into the final 12 months of his Elland Road contract, so you’d expect that Leeds may either move Bogusz on permanently or offer him a new deal and loan him out once again.

He’s impressed in the Spanish second division with his 11 goal contributions in 17 starts, so there likely wouldn’t be a shortage of suitors, should Leeds look to move the player on.
