Leeds United have no plans to sell Dan James in the final days of the transfer window amid rumours of a move to Tottenham, according to Football Insider.

The Lowdown: Spurs interest

James, like teammate Jack Harrison, has been linked with a late summer exit, with Tottenham thought to be keen on a deal and even considering a loan offer with a £20m obligation to buy.

Reliable reporter Alan Nixon confirmed ‘shock interest’ in the Wales international from Spurs, suggesting that the Whites could be open to selling the player depending on the size of the offer and whether or not they can land a replacement.

The Latest: Leeds stance

FI provided an update from Elland Road regarding James on Tuesday lunchtime, and it seems there may have been a shift in stance from the Elland Road hierarchy.

They claim that Leeds now ‘want to keep hold of James and insist he is not for sale in the final week of the window’, somewhat contrary to Nixon's update.

The Verdict: Makes sense...

Leeds have bolstered their ranks in the final third this summer by bringing in Brenden Aaronson and Luis Sinisterra in two big-money deals.

They parted ways with Raphinha who joined Barcelona though, so selling James late on without bringing in a replacement could leave Jesse Marsch short once again.

It looks as if Marsch and Victor Orta have no intention of moving the winger on, who hopefully, will kick on in his second season at Elland Road after scoring just four times in 35 appearances in 2021/22.
