Leeds United had to make an early substitution in their 3-1 victory against Leicester City on Sunday as Rodrigo suffered an injury and Phil Hay has provided a potentially worrying update on the striker.
The latest on Rodrigo
The Spaniard only lasted 21 minutes on the pitch and this would definitely have been worrying to see for all associated with the club. After speaking to Marcelo Bielsa following the match, journalist Phil Hay reported: “Rodrigo very likely to miss Everton”
This will be a blow for Leeds
Rodrigo was highly rated before his arrival with former Barcelona manager Quique Setien describing him as “extraordinary” in the past.
In his 18 Premier League appearances for Leeds, which have included 12 starts, he has scored three goals and Rodrigo’s in-game stats show that he has been a huge attacking threat; the player has managed 1.8 shots and 1.3 key passes a game so far (WhoScored).
The attacker has settled in nicely at Leeds, and was starting to become a consistent name in the Leeds starting eleven so this injury update will come as a big blow to Bielsa.
It looks like Rodrigo will miss the Everton game at least and Leeds will be hoping that he is back sooner rather than later as the Whites have put together a couple of good results and will be keen to keep their momentum going.
