Leeds United might make some signings in January, but for now it looks like they are trying to tie down their emerging stars in the academy.
Leeds announce young star has signed new deal
They are clearly are building for the future at Thorp Arch and have shown this by giving academy star Charlie Allen a professional deal.
Allen’s former manager, David Healey, praised him as he said: “Charlie is very good. You always try and be careful with young players that you don’t label them, you don’t say he’s similar to him, or he’s got this or that attribute.
“He’s a great kid who will hopefully thrive in the environment of Leeds United. He wants to learn, can play in two or three different positions along the front.”
The fact that Leeds are giving a 17 year-old a professional contract highlights how much talent and potential they believe he has and this should excite supporters. The versatile attacking midfielder also features for the U17 Northern Irish side so it looks like he has a big future for both club and country. This news will also be a boost for Marcelo Bielsa as it shows the club are keen to secure any top talents to give them a chance to impress the enigmatic boss.
