Andrea Radrizzani explained this week (via Leeds Live) that Leeds United will have a quiet January transfer window with plans to invest in the summer.
What Bent had to say about Leeds
Commenting on Leeds’ calculated transfer plans, Darren Bent was full of praise while speaking to Football Insider: “I’m all for that, I think that’s really important, and I love that they’ve done that because it is a case of solidify yourself, first and foremost, in the Premier League.
“Don’t run before you can walk, just get yourself in there first, survive and then once you’ve done that, then you could build for the next season and then go from there.”
“What you don’t want to do is start spending all this money here and there, loads of money, and then you struggle. I’m all well for it and I think they’ll be safe.”
It’s hard to disagree with what Bent has to say here. Radrizzani knows that survival is quite frankly the only thing that matters right now.
The Chairman’s plans have got the club promoted back to the top flight and therefore news that he will come up with new ideas when safety is guaranteed emphasises what a very enjoyable time it is to be a Leeds supporter.
They made some big summer signings, bringing in players like club-record signing Rodrigo, so if they stay up, then there appears to be a good chance they could make more signings of this calibre, given their limited spending this month.
