Ezgjan Alioski is one of many Leeds players who has adapted impressively to the Premier League and it seems like he will be rewarded with a new contract.
Phil Hay provides Alioski update
Journalist for The Athletic, Phil Hay, revealed: “A tough year globally has been a spectacular one for Gjanni Alioski – promotion with Leeds United and international achievement with North Macedonia. All of this came from very humble beginnings. And he has now entered talks about a new contract at Leeds.”
This is good news for Leeds
The 28-year-old midfielder has played 140 times for Leeds (Transfermarkt) and has scored 20 goals as well as assisting another 16. He is very versatile and can always be called upon to fill in at full-back.
Three of his six appearances this year have been from the bench but he has still managed to average 1.2 tackles per game (SofaScore).
The player has received a lot of praise in the past, as Kevin Phillips said: “From what I gather, his attitude is good and every club needs a player like that. He is a player who can unlock the door and he has a brilliant work rate.”
With fixtures coming thick and fast, the player signing a new deal before the January transfer window will be great news as he could have left on a pre-contract agreement due to his current deal expiring next summer.
With the praise he receives and the dedication he has put in for the club, there is no doubt that he deserves a deal and hopefully it will get sorted sooner rather than later.
