Leeds United already have some key players, such as Kalvin Phillips and Diego Llorente injured so Marcelo Bielsa will not want to hear the news that Ezgjan Alioski looks to have picked up an injury whilst on international duty.
Leeds might be without Alioski to face Arsenal
The North Macedonian was in the midst of a great international break before this injury as he had helped his country reach the European Championships for the first time.
However, that qualification came at a cost as his country released a statement confirming that the Leeds man is now injured. It said: “Ezgjan Alioski was forced to withdraw as he could not even train due to an injury.”
It was further confirmed by coach Igor Angelovski that he has a hamstring issue.
This is a big blow for Marcelo Bielsa
The 28-year-old midfielder has played 140 times for Leeds (Transfermarkt) and has scored 20 goals as well as assisting another 16. He is very versatile and has played in defence as well as in midfield.
Three of his six appearances this year have been from the bench but he has still managed to average 1.2 tackles per game (SofaScore).
The player has received a lot of praise in the past as Kevin Phillips said: “From what I gather, his attitude is good and every club needs a player like that. He is a player who can unlock the door and he has a brilliant work rate.”
It is clear to see why Alioski will be a big miss for Bielsa and his absence means that Leeds could be lacking a bit of depth in their squad for the upcoming games. With fixtures coming thick and fast, this injury is the last thing the manager will want.
