Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed that Mateusz Klich could start for Leeds United versus Everton in the Premier League given the injury picked up by Rodrigo.
Speaking to Football Insider, the former Aston Villa and England striker said that he thinks that the Poland international has every opportunity to play in the heart of the midfield against the Goodison Park faithful:
“I think there’s every opportunity he could start.
“They’ve not got many options, Leeds. You know who Leeds are always going to play.
“So I’m sure Klich will come back in. Maybe he just needed that rest, he’s played a lot of football so needed that rest.”
Klich is important to Leeds
With two goals and five assists in those matches as well (Transfermarkt), the central midfield player definitely poses a threat and is no doubt someone that the likes of Patrick Bamford, if he’s passed fit, can feed off of.
Should Klich start for Leeds?
Klich does a good job for Marcelo Bielsa’s team both in an attacking and defending sense, as the 30-year-old has averaged 1.9 key passes, 1.3 tackles and 1.1 shots a game in the EPL so far this season, as well as winning three of his duels on average per match (Sofascore).
If the Whites are to get all three points on their home turf, Klich will need to play well to fill the place of Rodrigo, as the Peacocks aim to push on and break into the top half of the table.
