Leeds: James Marshment plays down likelihood of Jack Harrison sale

Leeds: James Marshment plays down likelihood of Jack Harrison sale -Leeds United News

According to TEAMtalk editor James Marshment, it’s unlikely that Leeds United will sell Jack Harrison to fund a move for Wolves striker Hwang Hee-Chan this summer.

The Lowdown: Harrison bids rejected

The winger has been linked with an exit from Elland Road after being the subject of two bids from Premier League rivals Newcastle, both of which have been rejected, with Andrea Radrizzani firmly dismissing any rumours that the 25-year-old will be on the move.

The Whites have been credited with an interest in Hwang, and speculation of a switch to Yorkshire was increased after Bruno Lage refused to rule out a late departure from the Black Country for the 26-year-old.

The Latest: Marshment’s verdict

Taking to Twitter when responding to a suggestion that Leeds could let Harrison leave to generate transfer funds for Hwang, Marshment played down any possibility of that occurring.

He replied to a Whites supporters’ fears over such a move with a succinct five-word response of: “Don’t think that will happen.”

The Verdict: No-brainer for Marsch

Jesse Marsch will already be familiar with Hwang, with the two having worked together at both RB Leipzig and Red Bull Salzburg, but there seems next to no chance that he would consider getting rid of Harrison just to reunite with his former player at Elland Road.

The ex-Manchester City has been a revelation under the American since the 48-year-old’s arrival at Yorkshire in the spring, recording eight goal contributions in 16 games, and he has already provided three assists and one goal in just four top-flight outings so far this season (Transfermarkt).

Let's get started... Ezgjan Alioski's country of birth is?

Judging by recent form, Harrison will continue to play an integral part in any potential success for Leeds this season and beyond, so making the decision to keep him at Elland Road for the foreseeable should be a no-brainer, even if it means passing up the chance to sign Hwang.
