Leeds United have been linked to Championship prospect Louie Sibley and former Premier League forward Kevin Campbell thinks he would be a great signing for the Whites.
What Campbell had to say about Sibley
Speaking to Football Insider, Campbell said:
“Listen, if Leeds United want Sibley then they believe that he is ready for the Premier League.
“If Leeds pull the trigger, it would be a great move. He is a talented player and talented players in the Championship can make that jump to the Premier League.
“It is great that he is linked with Leeds and let’s see if they can pull it off.”
Now would be the best time to sign Sibley
The Derby County star looks like he has the quality to succeed and this was shown, in part, last season when he scored a hat-trick against Millwall. He is just 19 years-old, and the fact that Leeds have been linked suggests that the Yorkshire side feel he has the potential to succeed at a higher level in the future.
The midfielder has shown some great attacking intent in his 16 appearances this season (only five were starts) and the fact he is fouled 1.3 times a game suggests that defences find it very tricky to tackle him cleanly.
The news that Derby are looking to sell players could be a huge boost for Leeds as it means that they could, perhaps, get the player for cheaper than first expected. If they do want to sign Derby prospect, then now could be the best time to make a move.
