Leeds United were easily beaten by bitter rivals Manchester United – it will be a hard result to take but Marcelo Bielsa will be hoping things turn around against Burnley on Sunday. Phil Hay has provided an injury update ahead of that clash.
The latest update from Phil Hay
Summer signing Diego Llorente featured for the first time recently against Chelsea after injury. However, he then suffered another injury and hasn’t been seen since. Phil Hay has now reported: “Llorente due back in training this week.”
This is good news for Leeds
Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has been full of praise for the defender in the past, saying: “Llorente is a very athletic CB who has played also as full back and CM. Quality with his feet. A top player. Fantastic with long passing and comfortable with short.”
Before joining the Premier League side, the six-cap Spain international racked up 247 club appearances and has 18 goals to his name (Transfermarkt), so he has enough experience to come in and thrive when fit and healthy.
With Liam Cooper suffering an injury against Manchester United and Robin Koch currently unavailable, Llorente being close to full fitness will be a massive boost for the club.
