Phil Hay has dropped some very promising early team news for Leeds United, involving Liam Cooper and Diego Llorente, ahead of their FA Cup tie versus Crawley Town .
As per a tweet from The Athletic journalist, both players are ‘available’ for the game away at the EFL League Two side this afternoon, although Marcelo Bielsa has said that he is more cautious about selecting the latter.
Should Llorente start for Leeds?
In spite of the fact that Tyler Roberts will be missing again for the Elland Road faithful, Hay said that the Argentine indicated that it will be a recognisable line-up, adding that it did not sound as if Bielsa will weaken his team significantly.
Llorente and Cooper would be a boost to Leeds
If both Llorente and Cooper start at the heart of the defence for the Whites, then it would be a big boost to their chances of going through into the next round, with the draw for the fourth and fifth rounds being held tomorrow evening.
Peacocks fans will surely be dying to see Llorente on the pitch, given that they paid no less than £18m to sign him from Real Sociedad in last summer’s transfer window, added to the fact that he has only played in one senior game for the Yorkshire club so far since his arrival from Spain.
Being the club’s captain, Cooper is and important as a leader both on and off the field of play and he will also be looking for match sharpness, having missed the last three matches in the Premier League.
Nonetheless, the fact that Bielsa has suggested that it could be a strong line-up is highly promising for LUFC supporters in terms of their hopes of getting through into the next stage of the competition.
