Leeds United are facing Brighton next in the Premier League and Phil Hay has provided an exciting update on which players are available for the match.
The latest injury news at Leeds
The journalist for The Athletic was at Marcelo Bielsa’s press conference. He tweeted: “Team news ahead of Brighton – Cooper, Llorente and Roberts all available. Bielsa says Phillips is the only player who is missing (one-match ban). #lufc”
With Leeds currently 13th in England’s top flight, this game against relegation battling Brighton is a great chance for the club to make a statement this season. A win would put them firmly in the mix for a top ten finish, while a defeat would seem a disaster given the two clubs’ differing fortunes at the moment.
Therefore to have virtually the entire squad fit and only Kalvin Phillips unavailable due to suspension is great news and a huge boost as the manager has an abundance of talent to choose from for this game.
It is especially good to hear that defender Diego Llorente is available for selection – the Spaniard has only featured once for the club against Chelsea but looked impressive as he made five tackles, four clearances and one interception (SofaScore). He also won five ground duels and four aerial duels, so his return, along with captain Liam Cooper, will be a welcome boost for an injury stricken back line which has conceded nearly two goals per game this term.
