Leeds United will be hoping they can get back to winning ways on Sunday when they face Burnley, and the club have been boosted following the latest news around Diego Llorente.
The latest on Llorente
Phil Hay provided the latest update on the player from Marcelo Bielsa’s press conference. He said: “Llorente is available.”
This is a huge boost for Leeds
Leeds have had some big problems at the back as Robin Koch has had to have surgery whilst Liam Cooper has been ruled out of the clash against Burnley. Therefore all associated with the club will be feeling a lot better following the news on the Spaniard.
Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has been full of praise for the defender in the past, saying: “Llorente is a very athletic CB who has played also as full back and CM. Quality with his feet. A top player. Fantastic with long passing and comfortable with short.”
Before joining the Premier League side, the six-cap Spain international racked up 247 club appearances and has 18 goals to his name (Transfermarkt), so he has enough experience to come in and thrive when fit and healthy.
He has had injury struggles since he signed for the club, but in his only Premier League appearance for Leeds, he shone against Chelsea as he made five tackles, four clearances and one interception (SofaScore). He also won five ground duels and four aerial duels.
