Pablo Hernandez is expected to remain on the substitutes’ bench for Leeds United against Luton Town on Tuesday evening.
A superb performance from Marcelo Bielsa’s side at the weekend against a play-off chasing side Fulham saw them move to top of the Championship table, inching closer to promotion to the Premier League.
Given they produced a strong display at Elland Road, the Argentine is expected to make limited changes to the starting eleven against Luton on Tuesday. Here at the Transfer Tavern, we have predicted how the Whites will line-up against the Hatters, with just one change being made.
Patrick Bamford netted his 14th league goal of the season and despite being hooked at half-time, he will continue to lead the line with Jack Harrison on one flank. However, Bielsa could drop Helder Costa, who was also withdrawn at the midway point against Fulham, and replace him with Ezgjan Alioski who came on and scored against the Cottagers.
Tyler Roberts is expected to continue just behind Bamford, whilst Stuart Dallas and Luke Ayling will be in the full-back positions.
Spanish stopper Kiko Casilla remains suspended, meaning Illan Meslier will continue between the sticks, playing behind the centre-back pairing of Liam Cooper and Ben White.
Handing Bielsa an excellent option from the bench is the returning Hernandez, who is almost at 100% fitness following an injury problem. The Spaniard was in superb form as he came off the bench against Fulham, playing a part in Harrison’s goal in the second half. He may not quite be ready for a start, but expect him to make an impact from the bench again.
