Leeds United defender Rasmus Kristensen was dubbed “shaky” by Beren Cross following his performance against Cardiff City.

The Lowdown: Cup drama

A last-gasp Sonny Perkins equaliser saved Leeds from an embarrassing cup exit in Wales, with the Premier League side wrestling a replay from the jaws of elimination.

Goals from Jaden Philogene and Sheyi Ojo for the hosts saw Leeds 2-0 down just after the half-hour mark, before Rodrigo’s header and Perkins’ predatory strike turned the game on its head against the ten men of Cardiff after Joel Bagan was sent off, the subsequent penalty was missed by Rodrigo at 2-1.

It was a real scare that the Whites survived with them looking like bowing out of the competition in the third round for what would’ve been the sixth consecutive year in a row, but they now have a second chance to end that run back at Elland Road.

The Latest: Kristensen struggles

It was very far from vintage from Leeds with only a late attacking injection saving their defensive woes.

One of those who struggled was the right-back Kristensen who received a damning rating from Cross on LeedsLive:

“Got skinned a few times. Looked shaky on the ball and made far too many errors. Passing was not good enough and didn't offer a good enough option down the right flank. 5

The Verdict: Afternoon to forget

Leeds defending isn’t often perfect but again today they were far from it, and in particular, the 25-year-old was part of that failing unit.

Via Sofascore, the defender won just five out of 12 duels he attempted as well as failing to make an interception or clearance before he was hooked off in the 59th minute.

Offering nothing going forward either, the Dane had a measly pass accuracy of 64% with one completed dribble from four, incredibly losing possession 16 times from only 46 touches in his hour-long nightmare.
