Leeds United defender Robin Koch had to be substituted in the early stages of the match against Chelsea a few weeks ago due to injury. It was revealed he had to have surgery and he has now given an update on his recovery, saying “see you soon”.
The latest on Koch
The defender gave fans an update via social media site Instagram. In part of the message he sent to the supporters of the club, he said: “In the next few weeks I will only focus on this and I will give 110% in order to get back on to the pitch. See you soon.”
Noel Whelan recently told Football Insider: “Robin Koch stepped up. He looked like a leader there last night at the heart of the defence, which is what you want. I think that helps Luke Ayling, I thought the two of them were magnificent.”
The German defender has been key in the back line for Leeds this campaign. He has featured in 11 Premier League matches and has been great at stopping opposition attacks. Koch has managed 1.6 tackles, two interceptions and 2.1 clearances per game (WhoScored).
The fact that he said ‘see you soon’ should excite supporters. Although his surgery will rule him out for a few months, the fact he says this has given the club and fans hope that he is 100 per cent committed to being fully fit for the latter stages of the season. This could be vital to their Premier League campaign and he could be the player who helps them push further up the division when he returns.
