Leeds United have been without Robin Koch for the last couple of months, but he has provided an exciting update on his recovery.
Koch provides injury update
The defender posted an Instagram story which shows that he is back working out in the gym. He also posted an image on the social media site of him on an exercise bike, with the encouraging two-word caption: ‘Comeback sessions’.
Leeds supporters should be excited by this update
The German defender has been key in the back line for Leeds this campaign, featuring ten times in the Premier League and managing 1.8 tackles, 2.2 interceptions and 2.2 clearances per game (WhoScored).
Before his injury, Noel Whelan praised the defender, as he told Football Insider: “He looked like a leader there last night at the heart of the defence, which is what you want.”
This news will be quite exciting for all associated with the club to see, as it means his recovery is going well and he should hopefully be back by the expected date of March, if not possibly slightly before.
Leeds are currently playing right-back Luke Ayling at centre-back, and they have conceded 34 goals in the Premier League (SofaScore) – this is the second most. Therefore the German’s return is needed sooner rather than later so that he can help strengthen the defence.
