Graeme Bailey has sent a worrying message to Leeds United amid their imminent signing of Weston McKennie.

The Lowdown: Marsch being backed once again

Despite being very active and spending huge amounts of money on Maximilian Wober and Georginio Rutter, Leeds are now looking to add another recruit this month in the form of McKennie.

The United States international is set to join Leeds from Serie A giants Juventus on an initial loan deal, which will cost the club around £1m ahead of a €33m (£29m) swoop in the summer.

It is quite interesting that an international star who is playing regularly for a club such as Juventus is willing to swap that for a relegation battle in the Premier League - while Bailey believes the midfielder does indeed have some issues.

The Latest: McKennie a risky signing

Bailey has claimed on the Loaded Mag YouTube channel that soon-to-be Leeds signing McKennie is a risky character to have around the club, which may worry some supporters.

He said: "He does like Jesse Marsch and there's a lot of Americans there, but he's a risky character - he's got a few red flags with him as well.

"£1m down, £29m on obligation - that's probably what's put a few teams off."

The Verdict: Orta may have landed a bargain

Given the experience McKennie would bring to Leeds and the fact he already knows the manager and some of the players, he could well be able to hit the ground running and could make a difference straight away.

However, if he struggles to adapt to the hustle and bustle of the Premier League, he may well become agitated and frustrated, which could see some of these apparent red flags come to the surface.

Even if McKennie doesn't work out this season, the fact that Leeds will have managed to bring him to the club for just £1m upfront is an incredible piece of business by Victor Orta, especially given the precarious position Leeds find themselves in - though whether it is money well spent remains to be seen.
