Leeds United are thought to be eyeing a summer move for OGC Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo.

The Lowdown: Todibo profiled

Todibo is 23 years of age and made a permanent move to the Ligue 1 side from Barcelona back in 2021. The French defender is sponsored by Adidas and has made 84 appearances for his current employers, 27 of which have come during the current campaign.

He appears to be at the top of his game with a career-high €20m Transfermarkt valuation, and it looks as if Victor Orta and co are keen on a possible summer swoop.

The Latest: Leeds interest

LeedsAllOver shared a story on Wednesday regarding the Whites and Todibo.

They claim that the Nice defender is on Orta's radar and is an option in the summer. An initial approach for Todibo was seemingly already made last month, although that was thought to be rebuffed, meaning a summer switch is more likely.

The Verdict: Llorente replacement?

Diego Llorente left Elland Road in the final days of the window for AS Roma, with the Serie A side having the option to make a move permanent in the summer.

Should that materialise, Leeds would have just one senior right-footed centre-back on the books in Robin Koch, although they did bring in teenager Diogo Monteiro on deadline day.

Therefore, Todibo could be viewed as a potential immediate replacement for Llorente. The Nice defender has outperformed the likes of Liam Cooper, Koch and Llorente so far this season, as per WhoScored, so could be the ideal addition at the back, filling that role until Monteiro is ready for consistent senior action.
