Leeds United are reportedly preparing a contract offer for Borussia Dortmund left-back Raphael Guerreiro.

The Lowdown: Contract situation

Labelled an "amazing player" by Dortmund head coach Edin Terzic, Guerreiro has been with the Bundesliga side since 2016. The Portugal international has made 209 appearances for the club, contributing to an impressive 76 goals.

The 28-year-old will soon be entering the final six months of his Dortmund deal, though, and it looks as if Leeds are readying their move.

The Latest: Leeds update

According to TEAMtalk on Sunday, the Whites are planning to sign a specialist left-back in the New Year.

They claim that Leeds are ‘preparing a contract offer to lure the star to Elland Road’, which appears to be a potential pre-contract agreement.

The Verdict: Ambitious

Leeds aren’t the only side keen, with Juventus also name-checked with an interest in the latest report.

A move for Guerreiro, who looks set to represent his country at the World Cup, appears to be an ambitious one, especially as the player has featured in the Champions League over the last seven campaigns.

Therefore, he may not find a move to Yorkshire appealing at first, but hopefully, the lure of the Premier League and regular game time could persuade him, which would allow Pascal Struijk, who has filled in for Junior Firpo at left-back so far this season, the chance to return to his natural centre-back role.
