Leeds United reporter for The Athletic Phil Hay has now shared a significant update on the future of Jesse Marsch ahead of their game at home to Fulham.

The Lowdown: Under pressure

After Thursday night's 2-0 loss away at Leicester City in the Premier League, Marsch is now a man under pressure.

That is three defeats in a row in the top flight for the Whites, and no win in seven (Premier League), and their most recent defeat sparked fume from the travelling supporters.

The Latest: Marsch update

Writing in his latest piece for The Athletic, Hay has now shared that Marsch is set to remain in charge as they welcome Fulham to Elland Road on Sunday afternoon.

He still has support from the board, even though away supporters at the King Power Stadium criticised his decisions and the fact that he did not applaud them for making the trip, all while singing former manager Marcelo Bielsa's name.

The Verdict: On thin ice

Given how loved Bielsa was by supporters and staff in Yorkshire, Marsch always had a tough job ahead of him to try and get everyone on his side straight away.

The American did help his side avoid relegation down to the Championship, and actually started this season off well with a 2-1 win at home to Wolves, which was then followed by a 3-0 thumping of Chelsea in their next home match (Premier League).

For this, Marsch needs to be given more time, perhaps until the FIFA World Cup starts in Qatar in mid-November, but he is really on thin ice and the most worrying part is that the performance at Leicester might have been the worst one yet.
