# Leeds United: Raphinha attracting interest from Premier League giants

**Leeds United winger Raphinha is doing very well in his debut season in the Premier League, and this has apparently not gone unnoticed as he is impressing six-time champions of Europe Liverpool.**

### The latest on Raphinha

According to [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/leeds-united-ace-raphinha-blows-away-liverpool-scouts/), Liverpool are keeping tabs on Raphinha following his performances at Leeds United this season.

The current Premier League Champions’ scouts are apparently ‘[blown away](https://www.footballinsider247.com/leeds-united-ace-raphinha-blows-away-liverpool-scouts/)‘ as they seek attacking options for next season going into the main summer window.

### Leeds need to stand firm

Earlier this season, Phil Hay, who writes for The Athletic, [tweeted out](https://twitter.com/PhilHay_/status/1339281166176759809?s=20): ‘Raphinha btw. Seventeen million squids. Bargain.’ It is easy to see why he said this too – in his 16 appearances (three from the bench), the 24 year-old has picked up four goals and four assists ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/raphinha/leistungsdaten/spieler/411295)), a fantastic return for a young player in a new league with a promoted team.

His underlying attacking stats show that he is unlucky not to have more goals too, as he has managed 2.2 shots, 1.6 key passes and 1.6 successful dribbles a game ([WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/300447/Show/Raphinha)).

It’s not just Hay who has praised him, as Noel Whelan was impressed after his performance earlier in the season against Villa, [saying](https://www.footballinsider247.com/exclusive-whelan-wowed-by-leeds-speed-machine-after-u23s-display-a-great-talent/): “A fantastic performance and Raphinha was on fire. From what we have seen of him so far, he looks a really good signing.”

With all this taken into account, the club need to do everything to hold on to Raphinha as he looks to be a good talent and has potential to become even better in the near future.
