Leeds United have been linked with a move for Rennes striker Raphinha, with a medical reportedly scheduled for Monday, as per Leeds Live.
Marcelo Bielsa has worked hard this summer to try and build a squad capable of keeping the Whites in the Premier League for the foreseeable future. Spending just under the £80m mark, the Argentine tactician has brought in players such as former Valencia striker Rodrigo Moreno.
A successful start to the new Premier League season has seen Bielsa’s transfer business come good, with Rodrigo netting the equaliser against Manchester City on Saturday evening.
With the transfer window now coming to an end, Bielsa has been linked with a number of players as he continues to try and bolster his squad. A new rumour has emerged linking Raphinha with a move to Elland Road as Goal.com, among other media outlets, claim that a deal in the region of £21m has been agreed.
The Sun follow up the claims with a report saying that the young forward will jet into England and undergo a medical on Monday.
Raphinha scored five goals and registered three assists in 22 appearances in Ligue 1 last season, helping them to reach the Champions League for the first time; and his goals should already add to a lively duo in the shape of Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo, who have already registered four Premier League goals between them this term.
If the Brazilian forward is to arrive in England on Monday, Marcelo Bielsa will be hoping that this deal does not hit a snag, especially after seeing Michael Cuisance‘s move from Bayern Munich come to a crashing halt last week.
Leeds have started the Premier League season in fine form, drawing with Manchester City yesterday evening, but Bielsa is seemingly intent on bringing in a new face or two before the deadline.
Leeds fans should be relatively pleased with the new players that have come to Elland Road this summer and, judging by their early results, Bielsa seems to have them well set up for a solid season back in the Premier League.
