Leeds United have made an approach to sign Ajani Burchall from AFC Bournemouth, according to Football Insider.
As per the news outlet, the Elland Road faithful have set their sights on signing the attacking starlet after he rejected a scholarship deal with the Cherries.
Burchall has now opened up the possibility of a move in the summer transfer window, with Marcelo Bielsa’s team now registering their interest.
Should Leeds sign Burchall?
However, there may be some competition from Leeds’ Premier League rivals to get his signature, with West Ham United and Arsenal also reportedly interested in snapping up the 16-year-old.
Burchall’s agreement with the EFL Championship club expires at the end of the 2020/21 term, and so an opportunity may arise for the Whites to pounce.
Burchall one for the future
Burchall is certainly a player for the future, having already made his senior debut this season in the 5-0 home win over Huddersfield Town back in December of last year.
The Bermuda-born winger could well follow in the footsteps of the likes of Joe Gelhardt, Sam Greenwood and Cody Drameh, who all have bright futures and have been signed up by the Yorkshire club.
Nonetheless, the Peacocks will have to fend off interest from West Ham or Arsenal if they do decide to make the move to complete a signing for him in the summer.
